It’s all about Slavery

This letter is from Jude, a slave of Jesus Christ and a brother of James.
I am writing to all who have been called by God the Father, who loves you and keeps you safe in the care of Jesus Christ. (Jude 1:1)

It is all about slavery. To many, that is a dirty word, but in this case it is not a slavery that Jude is forced into but a slavery that he enters into willingly. Some translations would translate this word as ‘servant’ or ‘bondservant’. Regardless of how it is translated into english, the meaning of the word is best described by this definition;

devoted to another to the disregard of one’s own interests.

That is what we as followers of Christ are called to. To total disregard of our own interests and a total commitment to His interests. What does that mean? What would that look like? It would mean peace in your personal life, it would mean peace in your church life and it would mean peace in you spiritual growth. It means a total giving of yourself over to Jesus. It means that when you start your day, you are saying to God, ‘What do you want me to do today Lord? What person do you want me to minister to’

Imagine a life like that, imagine a life where God speaks directly to you and guides you in His will. A life like that is not a pipe dream, it can be reality. But only if you make yourself His slave.

    I like this quote,
    “Vision without a plan is an hallucination.”
    Seems to go along the lines of your blogs.

    It might fit with whatever the Lord gives you for Herald front page as the tie in monthly thought. Whether this month or another. it is thought provoking.

    Have a great day. Take a break for a lunch walk, maybe a prayer walk with with P. Noel. Good idea for all.

    Blessings,
    GB
