What’s for Supper?

As we jump back into John 4. We see Jesus being urged by His disciples to have something to eat. They were worried about Him because apparently He had not eaten. Jesus quickly deflected their worry and told them in John 4:34 that his food was not the food that they thought,

“My food is to do the will of Him who sent Me, and to finish His work.”

It is a wake up call of sorts. The church in North America is in a constant, ‘Me First’ attitude. If the worship is not the type of music we like, we complain. If the preacher is too long, we complain. If they run out of potatoes at the church banquet, we complain. Yet I never see Jesus complain about His lot in life. He never complains about tiredness, or hunger, instead He focuses solely on what the will of the Father is.

So, if we want to be like Jesus, we need to be able to say like he said, ““My food is to do the will of Him who sent Me, and to finish His work.” After all, we are called to be His hands, His feet, His body to a lost dying world.  LETS BE LIKE JESUS!
