Experiencing is Believing

Have you ever tried a Shamwow? What about a Slap Chop? You can count me as one of the people who has tried both and was left disappointed with the performance I received from these products. So much so, that I feel that I can no longer trust a product offered by Vince Offer (the Shamwow guy). Through the years there have been many products marketed on informercials, some work, but many don’t. That is why I generally like a store where I can go in and try the product, see if it is what it claims to be. I like to speak to those who have experienced the products themselves and get some idea of their likes and dislikes.

In John 4:42 we read this’

Then they said to the woman, “Now we believe, not because of what you said, for we ourselves have heard Him and we know that this is indeed the Christ, the Savior of the world.”

That was from some Samaritans that heard the story about Jesus from the woman at the well. They heard her story and got curious. But it seems they were unwilling to believe it fully until they got to meet this Jesus personally. Then they sang His praises.

While many will never see Jesus face to face before they goto heaven, we can still experience Jesus and His reality in our lives through worship and prayer. Through His word and meditating on it. Jesus is not a sales pitch guy (Like Vince from Slap Chop). Jesus wants you to experience the real thing. The fullness of His presence, and that can only be experienced when we develop a relationship with Him, by committing our lives to Him, by worship, prayer and the word.

Come and see that He is good.
