Living Water

We are a few days away from celebrating Pentecost Sunday. In times past it was a major christian celebration. The day marks the remembrance of the acts found in Acts 2:1-4, where we see the believers (who were together in one place in UNITY) get empowered and filled with the Holy Spirit. The day that the believers were changed into powerful witnesses for Christ. But this was not the first time the Bible mentions the Holy Spirit filling believers. In fact Jesus mentions it Himself in John 7:37-39

On the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried out, saying, “If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink.  He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.” But this He spoke concerning the Spirit, whom those believing in Him would receive; for the Holy Spirit was not yet given, because Jesus was not yet glorified.

We will be filled with rivers of Living Water, quite the image. It shows that we who were once dead, are now alive. We who were once powerless over sin, now are victors. We who were weak, are made strong by the power of the Spirit of God. The empowering the believers received on that day about 2000 years ago, would mark a change to the face of the world. These believers would be transformed from timid, unsure men and women into powerful world changers.

The good news, they are no different than believers today. We can too, change the world. We too can make a difference. We can see people’s lives changed with the saving power of God. My question to you is, ‘Are you willing to be used?’
